Panchkula: is a planned city and district headquarters located in the state of Haryana, India. It is a nebhourer of the state capital Chandigarh. Panchkula is a border city with Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. Its name comes from the confluence of five drains. Presently, it is part of an amalgamated area near Chandigarh, Mohali and Zirakpur. It is the residential area of Chandimandir Cantonment, which is the headquarters of the Western Command of the Indian Army. It is a planned city like Chandigarh, which has a sector system.

History: 

Panchkula is named after Panchkula village, located on the Ambala Kalka Highway, near the junction of the Chandigarh route. The city is a border city with Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.

Geography and Climate: 

Most of Panchkula lies in the Shivalik Hills. The temperature here remains high in winter and summer.
